Ride London To Dublin
15th-18th July 2020
Starting out in Vauxhall, London, this challenge will take us through Banbury, across Wales into Snowdonia. We’ll catch the ferry into Dublin. Over 4 days we’ll be cycling over 310 miles with challenging elevation.
Over 310 miles will take around 32 hours of cycling (not including refreshments, breaks and overnight stays!). This is not your average Sunday cycle, be prepared for long, tough stretches of cycling (with a rewarding celebration at the end!).
The reason we’re attempting this challenge. Children are our future, so it makes sense to protect them and that’s why this project is supporting Railway Children, in the UK and Temple Street Foundation in Ireland.
“We provide protection and opportunity for children with nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to. Every year thousands of children across the UK, India and East Africa run away or are forced to leave homes that have become unbearable through poverty, abuse, violence and neglect.
Reaching a child as soon as possible is crucial to getting to children on the streets before an abuser can, and before they become entrenched in street life. We race to get to children before the streets get to them.”- www.railwaychildren.org.uk
“Here in Temple Street Foundation, our aim is to support the life-saving work of Temple Street Children’s Hospital and ensure that our little patients receive the world-class treatment they need and deserve.
Our mission is to provide every sick child in Ireland with the highest standard of medical care by ensuring they and their families have immediate access to the best facilities, the finest research and the most compassionate loving support.”- www.templestreet.ie
